On May 17, 2025, the Number Resource Society brought together a dynamic group of digital stakeholders at Novare Central, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, Nigeria, for an insightful event themed “Business Growth with AI and Internet Governance 2.0.” Running from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the session attracted many participants, including resource members and prospective partners eager to be part of a growing movement to shape the digital future.

Far from being a routine networking meet-up, the event was a bold step forward in NRS’s mission to champion fair internet governance, promote IP rights awareness, and empower businesses to thrive in a tech-driven economy. At the heart of it all was a call to action; building alliances, securing trust, and rallying support, a strategic move to unify voices in the advocacy for digital equity.

A Future-Focused Dialogue

Participants were treated to an engaging session that blended visionary ideas with practical insights. From artificial intelligence to the evolving landscape of internet governance, the presentations resonated with the audience; many of whom are navigating their own digital transformation journeys.

NRS leaders emphasized the organization’s role as a partner in progress, committed to ensuring members are not only represented in global IP forums but are also equipped to leverage emerging technologies responsibly. The message was clear: Digital growth must be inclusive, secure, and rooted in advocacy that puts people first.

Building Trust, Securing Commitment

One of the most impactful outcomes of the day was the strong sense of trust cultivated during discussions. Attendees voiced their appreciation for the transparency and openness of the session. They were not just listening, they were actively participating, questioning, and aligning with the vision NRS laid out.

The real proof of confidence came through action. Several participants made their support on the spot by signing up as our network members, affirming their readiness to support NRS’s advocacy work. These signings weren’t just symbolic, they were statements of belief in a shared digital destiny.

Momentum for the Future

The Abuja gathering showcased what’s possible when vision meets action. It was another milestone for NRS, not just in growing its footprint in Nigeria, but in reinforcing the idea that collective action is key to securing a fair and open internet for all.

As we look ahead, the energy from this event will ripple through future engagements. Whether it’s deepening partnerships, expanding representation, or advancing AI literacy among stakeholders, NRS remains committed to leading with purpose.

Because when we come together, we don’t just navigate the digital age—we shape it.
