Despite RIRs’ claim that “the community owns IP”, these IP addresses in fact are in the hands of a very selected few - policy specialists and RIR executives who leverage their knowledge and position to set and execute policies which directly decide who has the rights to their IP address, effectively deciding who can connect the internet- they even have the power to reclaim any companies even nation’s IP by setting a relevant policy, effectively taking an entire cooperation or nation off the internet.

This is a dangerous situation for both Internet businesses as well as the Internet.
